I believe a workplace isn’t just a place to work. It’s a place to live, a place to thrive.
But that wasn’t always the case. After I co-founded BIGGBY® COFFEE, I put everything I had into growth and survival. We grew aggressively but our culture was sick. Our people were miserable and then it hit me. Not only only was I miserable running a company where people hated coming to work, my company wasn’t sustainable. I knew something had to change. There had to be a better way.
That’s when I realized that the backbone of my company wasn’t growth. It wasn’t even coffee. It was people and the relationships they share. It was love.
By learning to lead with love, I didn’t just help create a revolutionary company culture at BIGGBY(R). I created a purpose-driven business that all stakeholders could be proud of, and one that experienced rapid growth.
